Dear EBHO Member and other Friends,

Thank you for your commitment to East Bay Housing Organizations (EBHO). Because of you and others like you, EBHO is growing our campaigns and programs, and winning support for affordable housing for the lowest income communities throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

As we start EBHO’s 2012 Membership Drive, we are inviting you to join or renew your EBHO membership for 2012 and make an additional contribution. Your dues and donations strengthen EBHO’s work as the leading advocacy organization to preserve, protect and expand affordable housing opportunities in the East Bay. With a 27-year track record, we are successfully able to demonstrate that affordable housing promotes healthy families and sustainable communities. Our strength comes from our growing membership (an increase of 80% in four years) of almost 300 of the East Bay’s most committed affordable housing stakeholders.

As an EBHO member, you are part of a dynamic coalition of affordable housing developers, architects, planners, homeless and housing advocates, service providers, city and county agencies, financial institutions, community and faith leaders and activists, labor unions and environmental organizations. You are a member of a growing movement that is making a concrete difference in our communities.

Here is what your membership will further accomplish in 2012:
•    EBHO’s Oakland and Concord Membership Committees are developing policy, coordinating work, crafting winning land use and funding strategies, and partnering with city staff.
•    EBHO’s Regional Planning Committee is working in key jurisdictions and throughout the region to ensure concrete advances for affordable housing and making the case that affordable housing is essential for creating sustainable communities.
•    EBHO’s coalition-building campaigns are increasing the support of decision-makers, public officials, environmentalists, labor, interfaith communities and community groups.
•    EBHO’s convening of members and partners on supportive housing and homeless policies, funding opportunities, and regional and local initiatives.
•    EBHO’s Resident Organizing program in Oakland and EBHO’s Interfaith program are activating hundreds of people to take leadership in their communities.
•    EBHO’s 2012 Affordable Housing Week and Guidebook will reach thousands in May 2012.

Please join us at EBHO’s upcoming Annual Membership Meeting & Celebration to share ideas and updates for 2012, network with your peers, and celebrate your renewed membership:

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 from 5:30-7:30 pm

Please send your 2012 membership dues today by printing out the online membership form and sending us a check or paying on-line with a credit card here.

And if you are not already, please get involved in a campaign or program committee - the energy and ideas of our members makes EBHO a powerful and effective advocacy organization.

Thank you again for all of your support. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 510-663-3830 x 313 or Anthony@EBHO.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
